From a 2019 Teen Vogue article about rates of sexual violence among bisexual women:
According to the CDC’s 2010 National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (the most recent copy of this survey), 61% of us will be raped, stalked, or abused; one more recent study found that 75% of bisexual women report being victimized.
From the Disability Justice website:
83% of women with disabilities will be sexually assaulted in their lives.
As a bisexual, disabled woman should I average those numbers together? Or just marvel at how high those rates are compared to straight women (35%), which is still alarmingly high. As you might imagine, it’s even worse for bi woman of color and awful for trans women and trans women of color.
According to a recent Pro Publica article about dating apps and sexual assault:
Such systems frequently fail victims.
