After one year in lock down.

After one year of remote learning for your tween.

After one year of remote teaching for you.

After three consecutive years of online dating.

After coming out of the closet four years ago as a bi/pan person.

After deciding to date cis men again.

After meeting a cool, funny, smart, sexy cis man with a difficult baby mama, who hates you for existing.

After dating him for three months and deciding you really like him, but also that he comes with all of the same problems that the cis men you date tend to have — entitlement, helplessness, co-dependency, depression, financial woes, and inability to dream about the future.

After realizing that people of all genders you date have these problems because these are the HUMAN PROBLEMS.

After re-reading Co-Dependent No More by Melody Beattie and remembering that you have these problems too, and that here you are again trying to control and fix people when you should really just be working on yourself.

After being so angry at America for so long that you can’t really even speak about this country without getting into a hot oat milk latte froth of rage.
